PART 2: SPECIFICATIONS
2.01 FEATURES
A. The Digital Watchdog PIXIM Vandal Dome Camera shall be equipped with a 1/3” Pixim Seawolf
CMOS sensor. “Pixim’s Digital Pixel System® technology delivers high resolution, crystal clear
images that capture every aspect of any scene.”
B. The PIXIM Vandal Dome Camera shall produce 690 Effective TV Lines in the horizontal direction.
C. The PIXIM Vandal Dome Camera shall have an auto iris vari-focal lens. The lens shall offer a focal
length that varies from 3.3 to 12 millimeters. The lens shall detect the amount of light entering the lens
and automatically open/close the iris to maintain appropriate exposure.
D. During the day, the PIXIM Vandal Dome Camera shall operate as a color camera, and in low light
conditions, the camera shall be capable of switching to black-and-white mode and using the ambient
IR light that exist in its environment. The PIXIM Vandal Dome Camera shall be built with an IR cut filter.
When the camera is operating in the day mode, the IR cut filter shall filter IR light for precise color
reproduction. In the night mode, the filter shall be removed for greater light sensitivity.
E. The PIXIM Vandal Dome Camera shall be built with the 3D-DNR (3D Digital Noise Reduction) feature
that filters the noise in video images, especially in low light conditions. The feature shall allow the
camera to produce more color at night and to reduce the amount of storage space required to record
the video.
F. The PIXIM Vandal Dome Camera shall be built with a Powerful Wide Dynamic Range imaging
technology that captures all the details of any scene by eliminating underexposure or overexposure.
G. The PIXIM Vandal Dome Camera shall be perfect for all indoor and outdoor lighting conditions with its
Ultra Low Light Sensitivity.
H. The PIXIM Vandal Dome Camera shall be built with a Smear Canceling Circuit that eliminates glares
and reflections from the camera images.
I. The PIXIM Vandal Dome Camera shall include an ICON-driven OSD (On-Screen Display) menu with a
built-in joystick that will make programming quicker and easier.
J. The PIXIM Vandal Dome Camera shall be powerful yet energy efficient. It shall consume less power
than an ordinary surveillance camera.
K. The PIXIM Vandal Dome Camera shall include a built-in UTP cable and a built-in RS485 cable.
L. The PIXIM Vandal Dome Camera shall include a secondary video-BNC output with a cable for easy
installation.
M. The PIXIM Vandal Dome Camera shall include a built-in junction box.
N. The PIXIM Vandal Dome Camera shall be outdoor/environmentally rated. It also shall be vandal and
tamper resistant. The PIXIM Vandal Dome Camera shall have an Ingress Protection rating of 68. If
submersed in water, the PIXIM Vandal Dome Camera shall still work properly.
O. The PIXIM Vandal Dome Camera shall be configurable for several foreign languages, other than
English. The PIXIM Vandal Dome Camera shall include the following foreign languages: Korean,
Japanese, Chinese, Russian, French, Spanish, and Italian.
P. The PIXIM Vandal Dome Camera shall be quick and easy to install.
